Your support allows the Department of German to assist graduate and undergraduate students. We gladly acknowledge your gift and let you know how we spent it. You are welcome to specify how your contribution will be used. Some of our most urgent needs are study and travel stipends for our German majors; travel subsidies for our doctoral students who want to give papers at conferences; summer study grants for undergraduate and graduate students; and gifts to upgrade our departmental library and facilities.

If you would like to give a graduate student fellowship in your name or any other major award (for instance, a prize in your name for best essay or for excellence in teaching German language), please contact the chair of the Department, Professor Niklaus Largier, either by email, phone ((510)642-2009), fax ((510) 642-3243), or letter (c/o Department of German, University of California, Berkeley, CA 94720).

If you prefer to support the German Department with an unrestricted gift, please click Giving to the department. If you would like to make a gift by check, please make it payable to "UC Berkeley Foundation, German Department" and mail to UC Berkeley Foundation, Gift Processing, File #31932, P.O. Box 60000, San Francisco, CA 94160, to have it acknowledged for tax purposes.

If you want more information about other types of gifts, please consult http://givetocal.berkeley.edu/give-your-way.cfm. For further questions, please call the Office of College Relations at (510) 643-1964.

Your support is greatly appreciated.
